2017 Skoda Superb Wagon Review; Comfort and Spacious
The 2017 Skoda Superb Wagon is the familiar version of the Superb is the largest wagon for sale in Italy: it is done carefully, but in terms of safety and convenience, has some gaps in the scope (and neither is “donated” as the Skoda of yore). Thanks to the electronic shock absorbers (optional), the car does comfort its flag; curated the soundproofing. To move it there is a 2-liter diesel fuel pushing enough, good but not record even by entering the Eco mode, which favors the runs at the expense of performance, we detected on average just over 17 km/l.

Among the competitors the 2017 Skoda Superb Wagon is the one with more luggage space: exceeds the Volkswagen Passat Variant (which is more expensive), with which it shares platform and mechanical. Large and well made, well-486 cm long. Reduce hiss and rolling noise of tyres. Traveling on velvet with electronic shock absorbers (optional) set to the calibration more “rigid”. The 150 HP turbo diesel 2.0 is the most balanced engine offered: properly Shaked and pushes, Eco mode (performance will suffer, but runs better), does not require too much gasoline. This engine has a wide span of use, but the fast dual-clutch automatic transmission keeps optimal schemes (the manual helps to save almost 2,000 euros, but does “working” more): quick running steps, only departing is less fluid of the best automatic with torque converter. The paddles behind the wheel, though, are charged separately.
The 2.0 TDI there is also a variant from 190 HP, which has greater vigour, especially around 1500-2000 rpm, but it costs 1,500 euros. Thanks also to the oversized tires (18 “, an optional mounted on the car proved), road-holding limits are high: the whole proof stability in emergency maneuvers. The Executive of the test has a discreet and only charges aside from devices like automatic braking control sensors and blind spot. The Ambition (without bi-xenon headlamps and Gps) saves more than 1500 euros. The Style (richer) offers a better Hi-Fi (really sounding clear and powerful), Alcantara seats and steel profiles. No shortage of two umbrella stand in the door panels and an ice scraper behind the door (standard) while you are charged Usb and practices from 12 and 230 volts. Spacious and equipped the glove compartment: those in the dashboard and under the center armrest are chilled. Recommendable Hi-Fi with 12 loudspeakers: does the right (just over 500 euro) and is the envy of much more expensive systems. For Dab digital radio, though, you have to shell out an extra.
2017 Skoda Superb Wagon Interior
Characterized by an essential design and dark colors, the Interior of the 2017 Skoda Superb Wagon is taken care of, but “cold side”. The dashboard is very simple (informs about what is needed, but no more than that) and the screen colour is charged extra. Uncomfortable trip odometer button. The commands in the “climate” (/3 zones optional, serial/1 zone) are too low: operating them, you are likely to get distracted from driving.
If it weren’t for the center tunnel, high and wide, which hinders the legs of the fifth passenger, the vote would be even better: there’s so much space. The armchairs (on request with heater) are comfortable: don’t shake too much body.
Luggage space is huge. In order to be exploited, however, must be completed with some optional extras: the automatic roll-up rear shelf, the keys in the trunk to fold the sofa and (to avoid a “rung” of 11 cm when the sofa is down) the loading surface and adjustable height. Numerous hooks and rings in the trunk, and practical the drop bar adjustable with velcro tape.

In town. The significant size ofNew Skoda Superb Wagon can create some embarrassment in traffic, but the automatic transmission and steering light reduces the commitment. The distance sensors are standard only: the front ones are charged separately. In Comfort mode, intelligent dampers (another option) “smooth” Rails and pave. Nothing to shout about the consumption detected by us: 14.9 km/l.
Out of town. Between the curves it is best to switch between Comfort (in which the body tilts in a way that may be disturbing) to Sport: Steering (accurate as needed, to provide a quiet family car) becomes a bit more substantial, but the comfort is not affected. More stable than agile (though, never “clumsy”), the car offers a braking well modulated. Paying extra, the gears are operated with the paddles behind the wheel. Good distance: according to our instruments amounted to 19.6 km/l.
On the highway. Thanks to the effective soundproofing and the engine that, at 130 km/h, “working” quietly at 2200 rpm, the kilometres run away fast. In Eco mode, release the shifter “off” the transmission to harness momentum and save fuel oil; If you touch the brake pedal, the traction you re for the subsequent shot. Average consumption: 16.4 km/l measured at 130 km/h.
2017 Skoda Superb Wagon Pros and Cons
- COMFORT. Is a wagon well soundproofed that, especially with the optional electronic suspension, makes travel in the cotton wool.
- PRACTICALITY. Many rooms (two are chilled) and many ideas to improve life on board such as umbrellas and cargo restraint blocks with velcro.
- SPACE. For the people is abundant: behind it is almost impossible to touch with your knees armchairs. But it’s a lot too for luggage.
- SAFETY EQUIPMENT. A family like this should not be allowed to pay emergency automatic braking and the alarm for the exit lane.
- OPTIONAL FOR LOADING. The space is there, but the bottom with adjustable height and the bandbox wrapping alone are on request.
